About Us

The Wauconda Park District provides hundreds of programs including youth & adult sports, preschool, after school club, summer camp, fitness center & classes, marina & beach services and much more.

The Wauconda Park District was established in 1959 to serve the recreational needs of the community. The District currently manages approximately 100 acres of park and open space. The Community Center is the recreational hub for the community. Numerous programs and activities are held throughout each day at the Center. The District offers a wide variety of recreational programs for participants of all ages from tot programs to senior citizens. Look for our seasonal program guides three times per year, winter/spring, summer and fall, or online at waucondaparks.com.

The District’s largest park, Homer T. Cook Memorial Park houses five of the district’s ball fields, a picnic shelter, three soccer fields, a handicapped-accessible fishing pier and a skate park. This park plays host to the District’s annual Wauconda Fest every June.

In addition to Cook Park, the District has many other park sites located throughout various neighborhoods within the Village. These park sites are open from dawn to dusk and open to the public.
