DESCRIPTION:Michaelmas is celebrated in Waldorf Schools throughout the world at the turn of the fall equinox as a festival of courage. The old legends tell of Michael\, the bright\, strong angel who tames the dragon and inspires courage within us. Darkness\, fear\, apathy and depression are represented as the dragon. Michael wields his sword of light\, inspiring us to face the darkness with strength of will and purpose as the darkness of winter approaches.\n\nAs an act of service\, please bring a non-perishable item or monetary donation for the Wauconda Food Pantry. We collect these in place of charging admission to the festival.\nSchedule of Events:\n\n6th Grade Michaelmas play 1pm\n\nLive music 1:30-4pm\n\nPony rides 2-4pm\n\nPumpkin Bake-Off Judging 3pm\n\nBurlap Sack Race 4pm\n\nTicketed Activities 1-4pm:\n\nForging Michaelmas swords with a blacksmith\n\nObstacle Course\n\nFace painting\n\nPottery lessons\n\nBurlap Sack Race (at 4pm)\n\nPumpkin carving (parent with child)\n\nCraft station (Acorn Hat Peg Doll)\n\nBounce house\n\nTreasure hunt\n\nIn our Cafe:\n\nA Hearty meal of homemade Soup\, bread\, apple slices and cheese\n\nFresh popped popcorn\n\nHomemade Treats\n\nShop with our Local Artisans!
